About
Since 2021, I have been writing almost weekly podcast reviews. My goal is to connect listeners with podcasts they will love, with easy-to-read honest reviews of the shows I love.
This all started from a small obsession with podcasts, and a need for a personal outlet. Now, I find more and more people want to know what to expect before they press play. Or they need help finding a direction as they wade through podcasts for the first time. I listen to every podcast I review or recommend, hoping to give listeners and creators real feedback from a critical mind that loves the medium. As a rule, I will never use artificial intelligence to write reviews, generate content, or change what I write for this website.
Magpies are birds known for collecting shiny things, despite those things maybe not seeming too important or too pretty to us. Paper clips, coins, rings, bits of whatever. Magpies collect them because they find value in them. This is what I do for podcasts. Whether the podcast is outwardly shiny, or if find shine in them, I collect as many as I can to review. I strive to respect the myth of magpies in English folklore - a bird of wisdom. I apologize to any Australian suffering from swooping season.
I hold a BFA in Theatre and Spanish, and have worked in arts management primarily. I live in Baltimore with my partner (The Other) and our fluffy cat. Aside from podcasts, I read, enjoy punk concerts, and love escaping to the woods whenever I can.
